Flowerish is a stylish cafe located in an upscale residential area of Tomio, Nara city. Along with their popular cafe, they also offer macrobiotic workshops and sell an array of related food and drinks.

 

MENU DETAILS:

Currently they offer a safe and secure daily lunch box instead of their regular menu due to COVID-19.

LUNCH INGREDIENTS:

Brown rice, fried vegetable meat substitute, boiled pumpkin, stir fry burdock root, cucumber vinegar, cookie, coffee made of vegetables.
*They use only natural salt and pure soy souce and never use sugar.

 

ACCESS:

Flowerish is about a 10 minute walk from Kintetsu Tomio Station. Access by bus is also possible.​ The adjacent carpark has 13 spaces.

ONWA

Rustic vegan restaurant just south of JR Nara Station 
DESCRIPTION:

Onwa, a vegan restaurant which was renovated from a small old house in the alley of a residential area, develops and provides healthy and delicious meals that everyone can enjoy. All the menu is plant-based and gluten-free.

 

MENU DETAILS:

We ate the soy protein karage bowl and the Vegan Delight lunch sets. Onwa has developed a reputation for providing some of the tastiest vegan meals around and we can attest to that. The dessert selection is also rather impressive. Such is their popularity, Onwa is also frequented by non-vegans, 

LUNCH INGREDIENTS:

Pickles, Carrot rappe, Penne with tomato & walnut cream, Organic vegetable salad with red beet sauce, Radish rice cake Ratatouille, Quinoa salad with corn, Edamame soup Soy meat karaage, Soy meatball, Rice mixed with black rice.

 

ACCESS:

7-minute-walk from JR Nara station. The entrance is very narrow and would be difficult for anyone with mobility issues. There are 2 parking spaces available in front of the Onwa, bays 3 and 23

KURURU

DESCRIPTION:

KURURU is not just a health conscious vegan and gluten free restaurant. The owner of KURURU believes that food can also be therapy - healing the body and soul. They also have an aroma therapy salon and a yoga studio next door.

 

MENU DETAILS:

All of the ingredients, including the spices are organic and cultivated with a method of natural farming. They also use some seasonal food to take advantage of their superior taste and high nutritious value. They put an importance on local food production and consumption.
