Stylish vegan and macrobiotic restaurant in Tomio
Flowerish is a stylish cafe located in an upscale residential area of Tomio, Nara city. Along with their popular cafe, they also offer macrobiotic workshops and sell an array of related food and drinks.
Currently they offer a safe and secure daily lunch box instead of their regular menu due to COVID-19.
Brown rice, fried vegetable meat substitute, boiled pumpkin, stir fry burdock root, cucumber vinegar, cookie, coffee made of vegetables.
*They use only natural salt and pure soy souce and never use sugar.
Flowerish is about a 10 minute walk from Kintetsu Tomio Station. Access by bus is also possible. The adjacent carpark has 13 spaces.

PY HALAL KITCHEN
One of Nara's largest Halal restaurants just outside Nara park
PY Hala Kitchen is a fully certified Halal restaurant with enough seating to cater for large tour groups. The large space and convenient location also makes it a popular lunch spot for locals working in the area.
They have an extensive menu covering favorites from the Indian suncontinent, Malaysia, Indonesia and Singapore.
At the rear of the restaurant there is a private prayer room to cater for Islamic guests.
PY Halal Kitchen is in a prime location, just inside the Mochidonodori Shopping Arcade, just 20 meters from Nakatanido, the famous mochi pounding shop. The closest train station is Kintetsu Nara Station which about a 6 minute walk.

Rustic vegan restaurant just south of JR Nara Station
Onwa, a vegan restaurant which was renovated from a small old house in the alley of a residential area, develops and provides healthy and delicious meals that everyone can enjoy. All the menu is plant-based and gluten-free.
We ate the soy protein karage bowl and the Vegan Delight lunch sets. Onwa has developed a reputation for providing some of the tastiest vegan meals around and we can attest to that. The dessert selection is also rather impressive. Such is their popularity, Onwa is also frequented by non-vegans,
Pickles, Carrot rappe, Penne with tomato & walnut cream, Organic vegetable salad with red beet sauce, Radish rice cake Ratatouille, Quinoa salad with corn, Edamame soup Soy meat karaage, Soy meatball, Rice mixed with black rice.
7-minute-walk from JR Nara station. The entrance is very narrow and would be difficult for anyone with mobility issues. There are 2 parking spaces available in front of the Onwa, bays 3 and 23
KURURU is not just a health conscious vegan and gluten free restaurant. The owner of KURURU believes that food can also be therapy - healing the body and soul. They also have an aroma therapy salon and a yoga studio next door.
All of the ingredients, including the spices are organic and cultivated with a method of natural farming. They also use some seasonal food to take advantage of their superior taste and high nutritious value. They put an importance on local food production and consumption.

KURURU is located in Higashimuki Shopping Arcade, just a 3 minute walk from Kintetsu Nara Station. It is located opposite Nanto Bank on the second floor.
You may be wondering why this Indian restaurant has an Italian name. This place did in fact used to be an Italian restaurant, a restaurant with
a long history and that's why the new owners decided to keep the name. They are now a fully certified Halal and vegan establishment.
